— Inhibits viral replication or attachment.

Plants with documented activity against viral pathogens — herpes simplex, influenza, common cold, hepatitis. Many are most effective taken at first symptoms.

Mechanism

Block viral attachment (lectins), inhibit viral enzymes (polyphenols on neuraminidase), or modulate host immunity to clear infection.
