Reduces anxiety without sedation.

Plants that reduce subjective anxiety and physiological hyperarousal without significantly impairing alertness. Distinct from sedatives in retaining daytime function.

Mechanism

GABAergic activity (passionflower, kava), serotonergic modulation, or HPA-axis dampening in adaptogenic anxiolytics like ashwagandha.
