Glycerite defined

Vegetable glycerin extraction (alcohol-free).

The definition

Liquid extract using vegetable glycerin as solvent. Shelf-life 1-2 years, sweet-tasting, suitable for children and those avoiding alcohol. Weaker extractor than alcohol.

Mechanism

Glycerin's polar nature extracts water-soluble compounds but less effectively than alcohol for lipid-soluble actives.
