Blue Poppy

Blue Poppy (Meconopsis grandis), a perennial plant belonging to the Papaveraceae family, is native to the East Himalaya and Nepal. This plant is known for its ornamental value and edible seeds. Thriving in partial sun or shade, Blue Poppy prefers soil that is light (sandy), medium, or heavy (clay) and requires moist conditions. It has a hardiness range of 4-8, making it suitable for various temperate climates. Standing at about 1 meter tall, Blue Poppy is recognized by its distinctive light blue to purple flowers, which add a striking touch to gardens and landscapes. The plant's edible seeds can be consumed raw or cooked and are often used in culinary applications to add a nutty flavor to dishes.
