Pennycress

Pennycress, scientifically known as Thlaspi perfoliatum, is an annual plant native to regions spanning from central Europe and the Middle East to northern Africa and Asia. It thrives in a variety of soils—light, medium, or heavy—and prefers moist conditions with full sun exposure. Native to Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, and other parts of Central and Southern Europe, this plant has been cultivated for its edible leaves and seeds. Standing at about 0.3 meters tall, pennycress is notable for its distinctive perfoliate leaves—leaves that wrap around the stem—and its adaptability across a wide range of habitats.
