Crataegus meyeri

Crataegus meyeri, commonly known as the Meyer hawthorn, belongs to the Rosaceae family and is native to regions including Belarus, Central European Rus, Iran, Iraq, Transcaucasus, Turkey, and Ukraine. This deciduous shrub thrives in moist to wet soils of light (sandy), medium, or heavy (clay) texture, growing up to 4 meters tall. It is both edible and medicinal, with its fruit being the primary part used for consumption. Known for its ornamental value as well, C. meyeri can be found in full sun to partial shade environments. Its distinctive features include light green foliage that turns red in autumn and clusters of white flowers in spring, making it a desirable addition to gardens and landscapes.
